Former Yamada dry-goods store

A representative of the average merchant’s home from the beginning of the Meiji period (1868-1912). The store was selling clothes, drapers and general goods. After the war it changed owners many time, but the original atmosphere of the building remained. It is the birthplace of the famous painter Seisui YAMADA. Before closing it also functioned as a geta (Japanese wooden clogs) and shoe store of Mr. YOSHIO.
