♦Event♦【2025/7/20 & 7/27】Tsuwano Yasaka Shrine Sagimai (Heron Dance)|UNESCO Cultural Heritage of Humanity

Tsuwano Yasaka Shrine
Sagimai (Heron Dance)
will be performed
on July 20 and 27 (both Sundays).

With nearly 500 years of history rooted in Kyoto’s Gion Matsuri, the Sagimai is recognized as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan and listed under UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity “Furyu-odori” (Ritual Dances).

Join us in Tsuwano to witness this cherished summer tradition!

Event Details

Date: July 20 & 27, 2025 (both Sundays)

Location: The procession departs from the Tsuwano Community Center on Tonomachi Street

Time: The procession begins at 4:00 p.m. on both days
